Keyworking/Training

Each regular client will spend time with a project worker to identify which support options are best for their individual needs. As the first point of contact for people who are homeless in Exeter, we are uniquely placed to help and have well-established links to all the relevant agencies.  However, it can take time, skill and patience to build trust and a full picture of a client’s situation.  Once a plan is agreed, project staff provide on-going support to enable clients to meet each step on the plan.

Many of the clients we work with will have become socially excluded and many have complex or overlapping needs, such as mental or emotional health issues, addictions or a learning or physical disability.  Engagement with clients through key working and training in Life Skills are vital and crucial aspects of our work which help clients make positive changes in their lives.

Lack of accommodation and lack of education are common threads and we seek to address this by offering Basic Skills classes.
